Brian Scheuble, an engineer with an extensive career, will walk us through every step of how he aproaches the mixing process. In this particular episode, he teaches us about compression. This show will consist of a series of videos where Brian and friends will help you take your mixes to the next level.

Please note: In this episode, Brian discusses the 1176 compressor, and mentions the behavior of the attack and release knob backwards.  He says the number 1 is Fastest and 7 is Slowest. Notice on the actual plugin the attack and release knob works at its slowest on number 1, and fastest on number 7. Some of the old units of the 1176 came with the knobs backwards, so not all of them were built in the say way. Most of all it's important to use your ears to determinate what is the best sound!
